If the reports are to be believed, Akshay Kumar has charged whopping Rs.50 crore to star in the remake of Tamil film ‘Thuppakki’.
However, there is not much to be surprised about as Akshay Kumar has always been amongst Bollywood’s highest paid actors.
He is also having a good run at the box office, while his films like ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Housefull 2’ crossed Rs.100 crore nett mark last year, 2013 has also started with a bang as ‘Special Chabbis’ has proved to be commercial and critically successful venture.
A source close to the actor informs, “The makers were keen to have Akshay on board, so they paid him whatever he asked for; approximately Rs 50 crore, which is probably the highest in Bollywood.”‘Thuppakki’ is going to be directed by ‘Ghajini’ director A R Murugadoss. The action film also stars Sonakshi Sinha as Akshay’s leading lady.
