Bipasha Basu Wants Horror Genre To Get Credibility

Bipasha Basu, who has appeared in hit horror flicks like Raaz, Raaz 3, will be next seen in Aatma and the Bong beauty, feels that this genre deserves more credibility now.

“If a film like Raaz was a blockbuster ten years ago and Raaz 3 can earn 94 crores, so some respect should be given to this genre, because it means that both masses and classes are watching it,” she said at press conference.

She also emphasised on how horror films have changed over the years in Bollywood, “Our age old philosophies of 'bhoot' and 'chudhail' are getting a little more logical now. The kind of stories that we are trying to show they have a lot emotional core and a lot of human drama and then we marry it to the supernatural space and then we create fear so there is much more to the films,” she further added.

Directed by Suparn Verma, Aatma stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui opposite Bipasha and is slated to release on March 22, this year.
