Now, Salman Khan to co-produce Canadian project titled Dr Cabbie.

Bollywood's Dabangg actor Salman Khan is surely on a high road- as his production house Salman Khan's Being Human Productions (SKBH) is all set to co-produce a Canadian project titled Dr Cabbie.

The film, being directed by Canadian director Jean-Francois Poulliot, began shooting in Toronto early this week.

The script of the movie revolves around a young Indian immigrant, an unemployed doctor-turned-cab driver, who becomes a local hero when he converts his taxi into a mobile clinic.

The cast includes Vinay Virmani, who featured in Akshay Kumar's production venture Breakaway, along with Adrianne Palicki, Kunal Nayyar, Lillete Dubey, Mircea Monroe, Rizwan Manji among others. The film will also launch newcomer Isabelle.

“Dr. Cabbie is the story of an Indian immigrant and it has an inherent universal appeal,” Khan said in a statement.

"Dr. Cabbie is a timeless story that audiences will identify with, blending social issues and the journey of finding one's place in the world. We are thrilled to have such a talented cast who will tell this humorous and heart warming story,” said Poulliot.

SKBH Productions was launched in 2011 to produce films whose revenues contribute to Being Human charity projects. The first film produced by the banner was kids drama Chillar Party, which went on to win three National Film Awards (given by the Indian government), including best children's film.

Producing Partners, FirstTake Entertainment and Caramel Films announced Friday that principal photography for Dr. Cabbie started this week in Toronto with the film slated for a fall release. The film will be distributed in Canada by Entertainment One, while leading Indian distribution and production entity Eros International will handle the Indian sub-continent.
